About Us
OutdoorCook.com was created by Kathy & Bruce Jacobs.
Kathy and Bruce are lifelong campers who have taught outdoor cooking in Arizona for more than 15 years.
"We both enjoy the outdoors, the smell of the campfire, and the taste of a great Dutch Oven dish.
Bruce's cooking background comes from his mother, to whom this site is dedicated. She taught her boys to cook and camp with the best of them and you are reading the results. Bruce is also a Leave No Trace certified trainer.
Kathy originally was the training half of the team, but over the years has developed a specialty in creatively adapting recipes for easy use by others.
Both of us were scouts as children, out of which grew our love for the outdoors. We believe that good food adds to the fun of a camping trip and have the pictures to prove it!
During the course of our classes, we have learned that many people don't just want to know how to cook the traditional outdoor foods, they want to know how to cook the recipes they use everyday while they are out camping. We designed our classes around that idea.
We are Lifetime members of Girl Scouts of the USA. Both of us are volunteer trainers for the Girl Scouts of Arizona Cactus-Pine Council. The majority of the people we have trained in outdoor cooking are leaders, volunteers and girls involved in that organization.
Both of us love playing with new recipes and techniques. We recommend that you browse the site as it expands and learn whatever you can.
We hope you enjoy browsing the site as much as we enjoy bringing it to you!"
